It was a wonderful Saturday morning, when Max and his friend were going out on an adventure to the deep dark woods. Max’s dad was taking them there and dropping them off. When they got there it started to rain. “DAD, come back!” shouted Max but there was no luck. They found a tree with a large hole in so they made themselves comfortable. When all of a sudden a light flashed behind them so they went to see. “Drink this,” said a voice. “Look up! Can you see?” They answered yes and whoosh they went up into the sky.

100 Words - The Rollercoaster of Doom

The biggest roller coaster had just been built in the park. It was 50 metres tall and David was about to get 20 pounds to go on it. It went 100 mph. He had handed his money over, but what people didn’t know was that he was cursed for bad luck.

When he went on, the kart dropped from the 50 metres. Most broke their necks and some died. David survived the drop. He said, “Look up! Can you see the coaster track? It’s falling.” Sadly David died at the age of 14.  But now the curse was gone forever.

Once upon a time there was a little boy and girl called Hansel and Gretel. They lived with their mother and father in the deep, dark woods. One day Hansel overheard their mother talking.

“We need to think of something so our children do not starve to death, because we have no food at all for them to eat, or they will die very slowly.”

So Hansel woke up Gretel and grabbed her by the wrist and ran out of the house but when Gretel said:

“Look up! Can you see falling sweets?”

 they weren’t sweets, they were falling birds!

100 Words - The Deep, Dark Woods

My name is Lily Rose.

It was a Thursday or maybe a Friday, it’s been so long. But that one day, everything changed. I had heard stories about the three bears; I wanted to know if it was true. I set off. Striding nervously, I came across a cottage crumbling from neglect. I heard crunching noises up above me; I turned back. From the other side of the woods came a voice, “Look up, can you see?”  I glared up at a tree to find a white snarl and a pair of eyes. “I’m sick of porridge.” It went black.

Millie has been writing at home about what she does at the weekend:

On most Saturdays my brother and I go to Northside or Middlesbrough. We don’t just go there to look. We go to scramble bike race. We have won 4 medals on one of the bikes; also you get 20 minutes on the track. We have two bikes. Every Sunday we go and practise on the bike which has won 2 medals. We have had loads of people asking for my brother’s signature.  Also we go to Pica and take the bikes on the track and practise jumping over things.

Megan and I were walking home from school. Suddenly we heard a strange scream coming from a big, old, white mansion across the road. We knew something was wrong; we walked slowly and briefly to the mansion. “Who was inside?” we thought. I was really scared. As we opened the crooked door we heard a wicked laugh. “Look up! Can you see?” I shouted. We saw a bad sight. A man; a man with a knife… there was blood on it. We backed away quietly. The man charged. We screamed in horror. He shouted. We fell…gone! Nobody knew…

It was the hottest day of the month. Jodie wanted to walk up a mountain; she had never walked up one in her life, also her grandma had just arrived and she thought it would be pleasant to have a family walk on a nice sunny day. So they suggested they would walk up Cat Bells. But then Jodie shouted, “Look up!  Can you see?” Everyone was astonished.  But what was the thing? It had red lights and a blue light on the top of it. “Run everyone!” It was a bad idea! What will happen…will they live or die?

Once there was a little boy. When he was one month old, his town was destroyed so his mum sent him to the mountains. There were 17 men waiting for his arrival. They trained him to fight, swim and to hide (really well).

As time passed he was given a cursed box,       but one fateful day he was given a message that his father (the king) had been murdered by his uncle. He sought revenge on his uncle, so he went to where he had hidden the box and found a girl opening it. He shouted “No!” …but when she lifted the lid… hell was unleashed.

Sarah has had a problem for two years with a bin. She thought there were monsters in there; today was her turn to put the rubbish out. She was terrified to do this but her mam said, “Go and put the rubbish out now!”  Sarah replied, “I can’t!”  Her mam forced her to go and do it.  Slowly Sarah opened the door and crept up to the bin.  She thought this was the end of her life. A small, innocent box arrived at Bella’s door this morning. It must be a birthday gift, she thought, since it was her birthday. Grabbing the mysterious box Bella dashed upstairs into her bedroom. On the box it was labelled ‘Do NOT Open’.  But Bella did not listen. She went ahead and opened it! She was so excited but when she lifted the lid… Nothing. Suddenly in the blink of an eye she was gone! Sucked into another world… Never to be returned. No one knows why... She should have read the label. If you ever receive a box like this, I beg you, read the label.

When Daisy was 8 Years old, she was given a box by her grandma, but she told her she wasn’t to open the box till she was 68! 60 years passed by. Daisy was cleaning her closet out and she found the box, her grandma gave her. She remembered her gran saying, “Open the box in 60 years.” But when she lifted the lid Daisy was no longer a granny! She was a 10 year old girl again. The box must have made her young again! It didn’t take her back to the past like she thought. She was glad to be young; to live longer!

The Strongest Woman in the World

The strong, talented woman, Sadie Jenkins, was well known for her modesty about her strength, which is remembered by many people all over the world. She became the strongest determined woman in the world. After years of living famously, she tragically died at the age of 55.

Born into a rich family, in 1969, in Canada, the young Sadie Kate Jenkins was used to the famous life because her father was a worldwide known boxer. Tragically, when Sadie was 10 years old her father died from cancer. The Jenkins family were downhearted for many years. By the age of 11, Sadie attended many different clubs like karate, boxing and even wrestling! No wonder she became the strongest woman in the world. Her mother, Olivia Jenkins (Wrestling champion), encouraged Sadie to be strong. However when Sadie became 18, she decided to move to Australia.

After years of working as a personal coach, Sadie decided to compete in Australia’s Strongest competition. Competing against people that were stronger than her didn’t stop Sadie from entering the competition! The competition was televised around the world. She was determined to try as hard as she possibly could. The gifted woman, Sadie Jenkins, won the competition.

After years of living in the spotlight, even more people started to notice Sadie, even the Queen, who she visited often. Her name remained in the world book of records, which sold 5,000,0000 copies. She entered many other competitions, but then it all changed.

At the age of 55, Sadie tragically died after taking a taxi to a boxing club. The taxi crashed into a nearby building, killing her and the taxi driver. Her fans were broken. Thanks to Sadie Jenkins, many young children and adults are encouraged to stay fit and healthy. Many people believe that Sadie will carry on being the strongest woman in the world.

There was once a girl called Lilly (age 7). She had a really bad fear of clowns. Do you have a fear of anything? I do, clowns. On the twenty sixth of April 1974 Lilly found a mystery box sitting on her bed. You could just see all of the dust cascading down it and falling onto her bed. As Lilly got closer and closer her heart started beating ten times faster than normal. But when she lifted the lid…..clowns quickly popped up from everywhere, shouting, “Lilly look at us!” Lilly screamed in horror and then fell to the floor. The room started to spin rapidly.

The Amazing Life Of Anna Sewth!

Anna Sewth is a name you might have heard of: as well as being one of the UK’s professional doctors, she also invented a drug that could cure one of the nation’s biggest birth killers: phybioceopis. Her childhood was dark and cruel with death overtaking what is said to be a time when you are free; Anna was not free. With a head firmly set on being a physician, Anna studied at St Andrew’s Medical School. Soon after qualifying, she went on to be a superb doctor. Tragically she died at the age of 34. Even though she died so young, her life was far from wasted!

As a child Anna grew up with many obstacles and demons in her way. Unspeakable, her mother died of a brain tumour when Anna was just four. A year before her mother’s death, Anna lost her baby sister - who was called Rosie - minutes after being born. The doctors confirmed it was phybioceopis that killed her.  After those terrible deaths, there was only her father left. Anna was born in a small town in Cumbria on 17^th June 1980. She grew up with her dad (Michael) in Picker surounded by the wonder that is nature! Her father was a doctor and worked for the local hospital. He hated his job and had always dreamt of working for HRM the Queen, but he gave it up when he met Carol (Anna’s late mam). Even though he hated his job, Anna didn’t; she would often spend long hot days in the summer watching her dad do surgery indoors. However, she didn’t realise how long it would be before she had to put her skills to good use!

By the age of twelve Anna had already made her name famous to the nation.  It was a miserable Sunday.  The rain poured down from the washed out clouds and the wind blew up to 60 mph; Anna’s dad sent her to the shop to get some veg for tea. Anna bought the veg and was just about to leave the shop when suddenly she heard a beckoning scream from a woman, who was pushing a pram, at the end of one of the aisles. Determined to help, Anna ran over to see what was wrong.  It turned out that the baby in the pram had stopped breathing!  This may seem impossible but somehow Anna got the young child to start breathing again. After this extraordinary event took place, Anna received lots of gifts and fame, but the idea of saving a life was worth a lot more than all the gifts and fame! Is this were it all ended for Anna? Had she accomplished all she needed to? Or was she hungry for more?

Later in life-after graduating from St Andrew’s Medical School, Anna went on to become probably the world’s greatest doctor, however a hole still remained in the depths of her heart; all she ever thought about every minute of every hour of every day was what if she could have saved the life of her sister. Those words chimed in her head all day like the grandfather clock that stood tall and proud at the bottom of her stairs in her small cottage.  Unable to think clearly anymore, in a moment of madness, Anna quit her job! Destroying everything she had ever worked for. December 2007: her farther became critically ill. Knowing his daughter wouldn’t cope without him he whispered these inspirational words into her ears before slipping away: “I’m tired lass, a need to rest, but don’t think because of me you give up. Never give up; don’t greave all your life. Grab life with both hands ‘cause you’ll fail at some things but keep trying!” That’s when Anna realised her eyes opened and she immediately started working on a cure for phybioceopis. It took six long exhausting years but eventually she found a cure. She managed to save thousands of lives and in the end she wiped out the illness for good! Everything was finally working out. Or so she thought.

On the disastrous night of 19^th May 2013, Anna Sewth was on her way home from work when it happened. Anna was hit by a lorry and killed instantly. Her life was grabbed viciously from the light into the dark. This may seem like her time on earth seemed full of death and sorrow and in many ways it was, but when you think about it she saved hundreds, thousands, millions of lives. Isn’t that a happy and amazing life? Even today she is remembered for her influential, ambitious and talented personality.

The Life and Death of Erin Rose Brown

Erin Rose Brown grew up in a small town called Workington. By the age of 2 her family were in debt. With two older brothers to rely on, Erin was looked after well. Her mother went to work every day. Erin’s father was diagnosed with cancer shortly after she was born. With her mother at work and her brothers at school, all Erin had to keep her company was her voice. And that’s when her journey started.     

                                    

With her father getting worse Erin’s childhood ended before it started. Her oldest brother had gone to make a living by joining the army. By the age of 15 Erin had dropped out of school to help her mother. Already she had more than one job. Erin’s main job was working at a popular club called the Golden Tiger. While working at the club a VIP had overheard Erin singing and had asked if she had ever had singing lessons. She then was offered a record label.

Despite her father being ill, Erin moved away from home. Erin was already known worldwide. She had agreed to do a concert in Miami. While she was singing something terribly wrong happened. Erin’s dream had sadly ended.

Erin had a rare throat tumour. Not only did it end her career it nearly ended her life. Recovering in hospital Erin was already determined to stay in the spotlight until her days were over. Out of hospital and coping with the tragic loss of her father, Erin had accepted that she would never sing again and in 2004 became an actress.

   

Singing career down the drain and her father dead, all Erin had to keep her company was her mother.

While working on a movie Erin became close to a friend called Paul Walker. She and Paul went everywhere together. To going on family holidays to starring in movies. Paul and Erin were inseparable. Erin and Paul were already late for a charity event when disaster struck. The car had spun off the road and crashed into a tree. Within seconds the upside down car was a blaze. A passer-by saw this blazing mess and instantly phoned emergency services. It was too late - Erin and Paul were gone. Never coming back. Erin’s mother had been called to the scene to identify her body. When she realised it was her only daughter she screamed in horror.      

Erin will be remembered for her determination, passion and loyalty to others around her.  

Six months later…

Erin’s mother has remarried and since has had two beautiful girls called Rosie and Libby. Her older brother has continued fighting in the war. She was buried next to her loving father in the church where her parents was married. Paul’s and Erin’s family still keep in touch and do not blame each other for their loved ones’ deaths.

Jack was playing in the garden with his sister Mary.  They were digging to try to get to the other side of the world, but not for long. They had found a huge piece of metal that wouldn’t chip, so they dug around it. Eventually they found a lid! What was it? They tried to guess what it was but their guess was nothing like it. Mary wanted to open it so much that Jack let her. But when she lifted the lid… it was like nothing she’d seen before. They climbed down into it. There were many rooms and also some kind of evil creature.

The cookie monster and his imaginary sister crept into every house in the street. They went to mayor Micky’s mansion for the cookies, (they were explosive cookies) but when she lifted the lid they turned into cookies themselves. Suddenly they got smaller and smaller and smaller until they were shapes of a cookie. When mayor Micky saw them he put them in the cookie jar for later use. After dinner he was getting the cookie jar, the cookie monster was the first cookie to be eaten and his sister was the second. After the death of the cookie monster, he was known as the dead thief.
